Why changing your way of speaking changes the outcome

When we speak to people with a “human” tone, where our voice has a greater range and our vocabulary is more personal, it’s because we trust them enough to show vulnerability. The key to this is trust – we all agree that we want it from our co-workers and we all want more human/humane places to work. But how do we build trust, especially in fast-paced environments or ones where we are not always face to face with our colleagues?
