The Association advocates for policies that enable the discovery, development and delivery of innovative medicines and vaccines to improve the lives of all Canadians and supports the members’ commitment to being a valued partner in the Canadian healthcare system. Innovative Medicines Canada represents more than 45 companies investing over $1-billion in R&D annually, fueling Canada’s knowledge-based economy, while contributing over $19-billion overall to the Canadian economy. Guided by the Code of Ethical Practices, all members work with governments, private payers, healthcare professionals and stakeholders in a highly ethical manner.

It is within this context that Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) is seeking to recruit a Director, Member Services.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Vice-President of Operations, the Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategy that clearly articulates a strong member value proposition. The Director will build and nurture strong relationships with existing and future members, and work with national and international partners to promote member retention and growth, and to build an active and committed community. The Director, Member Services, will ensure that the portfolio is optimally built to leverage a member-driven operational support structure of more than 180 highly engaged, member-based staff.

Requirements

As the ideal candidate, you have experience working in a member or client-focused environment, giving you the ability to understand and balance the needs of a diverse constituency. A driven and ambitious self-starter, you thrive in fast-paced and ever-changing environments, and possess a high degree of political acumen and impeccable judgement. Creative, strategic and analytical, you embrace complexity and challenge with energy, enthusiasm and a bias to action. Peers and colleagues describe you as a team player and effective relationship builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You possess strong project management and marketing skills, and your ability to communicate and work in both official languages is an asset in this national role.
